IN THIS ISSUE, while everyone else is focused on the turkey, we're talking pie! Thanksgiving pies rival the turkey in terms of custom and tradition, so it's important to get them right. We started with three classics and gave each a twist, Pumpkin Pie with Gingersnap Crust with Apricot Sauce, Blue Ribbon Apple Pie and Caramel-Glazed Pecan Pie. GREAT IDEAS FOR HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING 

We have so much fun with our popular GIRLS' NIGHT OUT event that we've been planning this one since the Friday after last year's event. Girls_ Night Out_ Join the entire staff of Kitchenware Outfitters and industry representatives for an evening of wine, hors d'oeuvres and, of course great shopping. Our staff and product representatives will be demonstrating how to get the most from some of our fine cookware, tableware, and appliances. There will be door prizes and lots of specials, so get together a group of friends and have a fun GIRLS' NIGHT OUT on us! (Though there is no charge for this event, please register like any other class so we'll know how much food to prepare.)

  We're so pleased to welcome Chefs and master bakers Paula Hall and Shelley Borg of the Rainy Day Bakery. Having recently moved to Savannah from the rainy Northwest, hence the name for the bakery, they specialize in authentic Italian Biscotti as well as regional cookies and other sweet treats. No one knows how to party like Italians, and for their first class with us, Chefs Paula and Shelley bring a special Italian touch to your holiday entertaining with a special menu that includes:
  • Fall Walnut, Apple, and Grogonzola Salad with White Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Classic Bruschetta topped with plum tomatoes, garlic, and fresh basil
  • Fluffy Ricotta Gnocchi sauced with classic slow-simmered Ragu with beef and tomatoes
  • Ginger and Cinnamon-scented Holiday Biscotti

She will show you how quick and easy it is to make using the mixer's many attachments, from the food grinder to the pasta maker, and how to make holiday treats effortlessly with the food processor. You'll not only learn but taste as she offers a sampling of everything she makes. Look for details in our weekly email updates and mark your calendar. You don't want to miss it!

Minimum $3.00 per knife/ 5 knife limit


Bring in up to five knives (except serrated) and let us put a razor sharp, factory edge on them with professional sharpening equipment. This is the perfect time to bring in your carving set and get it ready for carving the Thanksgiving turkey and holiday roasts. Every dollar you spend on sharpening will be donated to Ronald McDonald House, an organization that offers a home-away-from-home for the families of children who are facing extended stays in the hospital. The minimum donation is $3.00 per knife, but you may give any amount over that, and we hope you will be generous in your support.
