Cookies for the Season

It's our favorite time of year - time to bake holiday cookies! Whether you plan to share with neighbors or co-workers, send to friends far away, or serve at home, cookies are an easy and fun time to express your kitchen creativity and celebrate the season.

IN THIS ISSUE, we offer three cookie recipes with plenty of visual appeal for the holiday cookie plate. From biscotti-like Holiday Slices and classic Gingerbread people, to buttery Finnish Almond Logs, these cookies will become permanent additions to your holiday cookie repertoire. We also offer tips for planning your holiday baking, achieving baking success, and putting together a cookie exchange.

A couple of our favorite recent posts on Facebook:

Nov 8 - Tip of the Day: For extra-tender meatballs, try soaking bread crumbs in lukewarm water until thoroughly moist. Squeeze out the excess water before kneading the crumbs into your ground meat.

Nov 1 - Tip of the Day: When mixing dry ingredients that include baking powder or baking soda, add any dark spices to the mix last. When you see that the spices are thoroughly mixed, you know that your rising agents have been evenly distributed, too.
