Dec. 7 - Tip of the day: Before you chop chili peppers, rub a little vegetable oil into your hands and your skin won't absorb the spicy chili oil.

 

Dec 3 - Tip of the day: Need a good way to mark what items are in your freezer? Try using painter's tape! It is easy to remove and won't leave a sticky residue on your containers.

Thursday, January 5 - 6:30pm Spanish Tapas: The Small Plates of Spain
There's no question about it that one of life's simplest pleasures is good food and good friends.  Spanish tapas are the perfect way to entertain or just add some new recipes to your repertoire.  These small plates with big flavor are straight from Spain and absolutely delicious!  Janis Boettinger and Geno Schuppe have authentic recipes that you will love to share with your friends and family for a fun night of casual dining, Spanish style!

Light & Healthy Winter Comfort Foods 

Warm winter soups, casseroles, and breads are no doubt very comforting on a cold winter night.  The problem?  They are often heavy and unhealthy.  This year, give your comfort recipes a light and healthy makeover to start out the new year right!  Resident Chef, JaDene Denniston has recipes that will not only satisfy, but leave you feeling fabulous! Proceeds of class registration and 20% off all sales will go directly to The Child & Family Support Center.

Healthy Recipes & Plans for 2012 Resolution Success! 

We often set the same new year's resolutions, year after year.  Take control this year with registered Sport's Academy dietician, Mary Dimmick.  This class will include healthy recipes and plans for your resolution success! 

 

Tuesday, January 10 - 6:30pm
Knife Skills & A Meal 

There is no tool more valuable in the kitchen than a sharp knife....if you know how to use it!  In this hands-on class, Chef Robert Sanderson will teach you all the skills you all you need to be able to use your knives safely, properly, and like a professional.   Learn about storage, sharpening, cutting styles, and more.  This is a must have class for any serious cook!

Hands on Whole Wheat Bread 

Come learn from our in-store instructor how to make delicious wheat bread using freshly ground wheat flour.  Instructor will also demonstrate how to make our cinnamon/currant variation.  Includes pan and one loaf of bread to take home.

Asian New Year 

With the Chinese New Year just around the corner, could there be a better way to celebrate than with a class dedicated to Asian cooking?  In this class Tiffany Jeppsen has recipes celebrating the diversity and different cooking styles of Asian cuisine.  Come learn new ways of cooking, fabulous recipes, and celebrate the Chinese New Year through food!

Perfect Under Pressure: Electric Pressure Cooking 

Couldn't we all use a little more time in the day?  With the electric pressure cooker in your kitchen you can cut down on your time spent in the kitchen so you can spend more time out of the kitchen.  Resident Chef, JaDene Denniston has all the tools you'll need to master this appliance.  It's soon to become your favorite!
