The boom is on! The vegetable boom, that is. The season's best vegetables are everywhere, just picked, super-fresh, and ready for your kitchen wizardry!

IN THIS ISSUE, we're tackling a variety of vegetables in the kitchen with some basic prep techniques. Then we transform them into a trio of tangy relishes that add plenty of pep to just about any dish. We've included a colorful Confetti Relish, a Sweet and Spicy Corn Relish, and a unique Spicy Pepper Relish. Keep in the fridge, or preserve in jars - your choice!

We have a new Sushi chef coming to Love to Cook. Barney Northrop, from Herm's Inn on Canyon Road in Logan, will be here to teach you how to make your own wonderful sushi. He is an expert in this and will share all his knowledge and tips of sushi making.

Hands-On Wheat Bread
Come learn from our in-store instructor how to make delicious wheat bread using freshly ground wheat flour. Patty Taylor will also demonstrate how to make our cinnamon/currant variation. Price includes pan and one loaf of bread to take home.

A Mediterranean Cruise: Destination Provence
Geno Shupp & Janis Boettinger continue their new series of occasional classes exploring the depth and breadth of the Mediterranean diet with a stop in Provence, where "France" meets the Mediterranean. The cuisine's roots stretch back to the Greek (6th century BC) and Roman (1 BC) occupations, but there have been many influences that have led to what we see - and taste - today. The use of butter and cream tie it to the North, but the food is lighter and based on the Mediterranean classics of olive oil, garlic, aromatic herbs, wine, and meat from the sea and the mountains, all with an abundance of fruits and tender young vegetables. Come explore with us!
