Garden and Grains - Summer's Best Salads
Summer brings the best produce to our kitchens! Some days it's a challenge to make good use of all that is in our gardens or finds from the market! With our knife in hand and cutting board ready, we're putting summer's harvest on the table.

IN THIS ISSUE, we're serving up "fresh" in three salads featuring seasonal vegetables, combined with a grain for extra heartiness, and all dressed with a vinaigrette (no mayo in sight!). We start with a  Greek-style Pasta Salad, continue with a Farro Farm Salad (our favorite!) and finish with a twist on a tradition with a Quinoa Tabbouleh.

Ice Creams & Sorbets

Nothing tastes as good as homemade ice cream or sorbet on a hot summer day. It is so easy to make your own and tastes so much better. Janice Skousen will be teaching some fun recipes for both of these that will just melt in your mouth. Don't miss this class as you will definitely have some new recipes for your next patio party.

Hands-On Cinnamon Rolls 

Patty Taylor, our bread instructor, will be teaching you how to make the most delicious cinnamon rolls. This will be a hands-on class with only 4 spots available so sign up early and you will be making the best cinnamon rolls for your family and friends.

Queen of Tarts 

The queen of tarts, Kanako Arnold from Crumb Brothers Bakery, will be teaching how to make a perfect tart. She will share recipes and ideas for different fillings and toppings. Tarts are a delicious dessert that ends any meal or just a nice refreshment.

Now that summer is in full swing Esther Nelson will share some burger and rib recipes with you all.  This is the perfect time to learn a new favorite and go home and break out your grill and make it for friends and family.

Fondant & Gum Paste
After you know the basics of cake decorating, the next step is to learn how to work with fondant and gum paste. Kelli Barker will be teaching this hands-on class as you work with the material to form all kinds of fun decorations to use on your cake creations. More than just sunny beaches and palm trees, this is a region with some of the most delicious and healthy foods on earth. Kids Cooking Camp

Kids like being in the kitchen and that is the best time to learn some good techniques and tips. Our 3 day cooking camp is a great opportunity for your child to have some hands-on experience with prepping, cutting, mixing, and baking different menu items that will help them enjoy the preparing as much as the eating. This class is for ages 8-11.

Greek Yogurt

Rich, creamy and tart, Greek Yogurt is delicious and oh so good for you! Especially when you make it yourself. Joy Ercanbrack will be teaching how to make greek yogurt, how to substitute it for heavy ingredients like sour cream, butter, etc., and she'll share the formula for making super-food smoothies too.

Irresistibly Gluten Free

Christina Davis, author of "Irresistibly GlutenFree: Simple Family Favorite Recipes" will be teaching us how to make gluten-free bread, hamburger buns, orange rolls, and banana bread. We will also learn how to grind gluten-free flours using the Nutrimill.

Hands-on Basic Cake Decorating 

Ever wanted to learn how to decorate a cake? This hands-on class will teach you the basics of cake decorating. Chelette Hawes will show you how to frost a cake without all the little crumbs getting into the frosting.She will teach you how to hold and handle the pastry bag and you can practice using assorted decorating tips. Come join us for a fun night of frosting!

Juicing

Andrea Choate will be in our kitchen to teach you about juicing and the health benefits of it. She has had personal experience with the wellness effect of juicing.
