IN THIS ISSUE, we're churning up several delicious homemade ice creams. Thanks to the guidance of Seattle's iconic Molly Moon's Ice Cream shops, we're mixing up "Scout" Mint Ice Cream, Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream, and a fabulous Cappuccino Ice Cream. Easy and delicious - what more can one ask for a chillaxing treat!

Dave will fire up the grills on our patio and beguile you with his grilling skills. His current menu includes Jalapeno Shrimp, Grilled Lemonade, Beer Can Chicken, grilled Eggplant Parmesan and a primer on how to properly grill steak and fish. We predict that this class will sell out quickly, register early if you're interested! Class is limited to 16.

Those who know Jerry know him for his love of teaching French and English in the Warren school system. He is also an avid gardener and a food aficionado. Join us for what has always been a very entertaining hands-on class with fabulous pizza! We'll be baking in both charcoal and gas grills outside on the patio. Recipes will include: The Perfect Dough, fresh Garden Sauce, and a special olive oil mixture to brush on your crust. Mangier! Everyone will have the chance to roll their own dough and make their own pizza. Class is limited to 14.  


AUGUST 2013

SIMPLE SAVORY SEAFOOD

Kathy Hunt - Cookbook Author, Chef
In conjunction with the release of her new cookbook, Fish Market, Kathy will be featuring easy but tasty seafood recipes. Included will be a Sardine Spread, Sautéed Ginger-Garlic Shrimp and Seven Spice Salmon. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing after the class. Class is limited to 16. 

 

SEPTEMBER 2013 

SUSHI

Monday, September 9, 2013 - 6:30 pm, $50

The last time we offered this class it sold out almost immediately. Dave has so much fun he agreed almost immediately to do another class for us! If you're interested in learning to roll your own sushi we suggest you call early to register! You'll learn to cook perfect rice, select the proper ingredients (Dave will cover both seafood and vegetable sushi) and roll your own. Each participant will take home their own bamboo sushi mat and rice paddle. Class is limited to 14.

What better way to end the summer than with mouth watering pies! Gayle will teach you the secret to a perfect meringue and a flakey crust. You'll learn to make Coconut Cream Pie, a Fruit Pie featuring homemade meatless mincemeat, Butterscotch Mini-Tarts and a Chocolate Pecan Pie. Class is limited to 16.

KNIFE SKILLS
Wednesday, October 16, 2013 - 6:00 pm, $55
Ed Bartush, Wusthof Knives Sales Rep.
Ed will discuss knife construction, metal composition and sharpening. He'll also demonstrate proper cutting techniques along with a few tips and tricks that you can use in your own kitchen. You'll learn to properly cut onions and tomatoes, de-bone a chicken, carve a chicken or turkey and make an apple swan garnish! Best of all, you'll get your own Wusthof Classic paring knife to use and take home. This knife retails for $49.95 and has been given a "Highly Recommended" rating by Cooks Magazine - their highest rating. This is a hands-on class limited to 14. Prior to class, Ed will be available to sharpen your knives for $2 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Washington County.
